Matt Wilson is just off the national tour of Billy Joel’s smash musical hit Movin’ Out! where he sang the lead for just under two years.
This two-time Tony Award winning Broadway show featured the songs of Billy Joel and the choreography and conceptualization of Twyla Tharp.
Matt literally sang the show’s soundtrack from a platform above the stage as the dancers danced beneath it.
Born in 1973, a University of Texas at Austin Journalism grad of 1996, Matt left Austin to play piano and sing at Walt Disney World.
"I performed five nights a week for two years to a packed house every night to people from all over the world.
The two year gig at Disney was like getting my master's degree in rock-n-roll performance."
Matt has also song in the piano bars of Austin’s famed 6th Street where he honed his crowed pleasing skills.
